Catwa came out with a new head on Tuesday and marked it 50% off for 24 hours, which prompted my lazy butt to drop everything and demo it. This one is called Lilly and in the ad it seemed like it might not be in line with my typical look but I gave it a try because I know I should change it up sometimes. I was so happy with how it turned out that I bought it before the sale was over.

It seems I've reached a blissful sort of exhaustion from the last week of shopping/holiday mayhem, both in world and out. That coupled with a forced staycation and my brain is all out of whack. I've never been one for schedules but I probably could have used maybe a snippet of one over the break. Snow. I love how when it accumulates, it covers everything in a clean colorless blanket and renders sharp edges smooth and gives the skeletal remains of trees flesh again. I especially love the muted nature of everything because I'm a fan of peace and quiet. I don't, however, love white-knuckling it to work and the sting of it melting inside my shoes. That's why I'll settle for snow in Second Life.

I have so many fond childhood memories of Shel Silverstein. My worn copy of Where the Sidewalk Ends used to have a permanent spot under my bed in case I wanted to thumb thru it before going to sleep. The set by Echo totally reminded me of that book. It has a large chest you can sit in and pull the blankets over you and as soon as I saw it, I was tempted to look him up on Amazon. The kid in me wanted to curl up in the armoire and pull the doors closed after me.

One of the things I like about subscription boxes is the fact that I get to test out new stores or stores which are new to me. Since I've only been in Second Life for a little over a year, I'm still trying to discover and keep up with all the amazing talented designers flooding the grid so I might wind up relying on the boxes to find them for me. I bought my first BishBox in January and one of the designers I really liked in there was ChicModa. I wore the heck out of her Hazel Top (one of the first "real" pics I took with my new computer) The BishBox was a monthly must for me until they canceled it in September. Although you can no longer buy past boxes, ChicModa recently put all her contributions for sale in the main store, so if you missed out on any of them you can now pick up the fatpacks for 399L each. Train to Nowhere - Savoy Brown (1969)

Although the song is about a figurative train, I was still reminded of it when I saw this set from Serenity Style. Growing up, my parents introduced me to a lot of great blues and rock and they played this song often enough for it to stick in my brain.

The Kynne Old Station set is for the November round of PocketGacha, and if you're into gachas and  haven't tried this new concept yet, I highly recommend it. Instead of teleporting to an event, the shopping is done via hud wherever you feel like it. There's also the added option of buying an entire set rather than pulling and pulling until you're out of lindens and still haven't gotten every piece. I remember Googling myself a while back and feeling like I was entering a strange unknown world when I saw things about me I barely remembered and some I didn't even know about. There was a picture of me in the background at a work picnic that I had never seen before. I looked bored as hell. My supervisor had tagged everyone. I remember the thing that seemed to bother me the most was that my purse was open beside me and you could see my cigarettes in there. 

Moving on, here is Berry's latest Second Life Challenge. 

Google your Second Life name in “quotations” and share your results. 

1. What are the first 5 links that come up? 

My twitter, a Facebook post from June announcing my win for Powder Pack Princess, my flickr page, the Bish Box flickr group (likely because my photo was chosen as the group cover right before the group was closed) and what I assume is my profile on the Second Life forums.

2. Click on the “Images” tab and tell us where the first 5 images are from. 

The first one is the first "real photo" I ever took in December '16 and the others are all from blog posts I've taken since June of this year.

3. Click on the “Videos” tab and share your results, if any. 

There are only 2 there and they are both Strawberry Singh's videos which I commented on.

5. Did any of the results surprise you? 

Not really. Since LadyEllenT has only existed for little over a year there isn't much I don't remember yet.

Would have been nice if my old forum posts were more buried. Remnants of my silly noobishness.
